UPdate March 2025

Dear Friends,
Just over ten years ago, I was moved to take this hurried snapshot as we surveyed a natural amphitheater on a crisp winter afternoon. As I fumbled with my gloves and phone I had no idea how significant this snow-covered field would turn out to be.
It was our first sighting of the vineyard that we now call Ultima Pietra.
Nestled on a hilltop, our vines overlook the medieval village of Trequanda. The documented history of our tiny village dates back over 2,000 years to the Etruscans, yet the origin of its name remains a mystery.
Local lore links the name Trequanda to the Latin, Terram Quandam, which means “a certain land" or particular place. We felt it on that first snowy evening, an overwhelming sense of place. Since then, we have done our utmost to nurture and honor this magnificent plot of land.

Proud to present.. TQ!
This is how our Rosso will look going forward. The name, TQ, is an homage to Terram Quandam, the land we have come to cherish. Our Rosso has always had a unique soul and now has a name to match. The answer was right beneath our feet.
What’s more, the two letters also stand for Tal Quale, an Italian winemaking term meaning "As Is", reflecting our commitment to letting our precious grapes do the talking with as little intervention as possible.
To celebrate we have compiled a special Library Vertical featuring the 2019 and 2020 Rosso alongside 2021 TQ - our evolution in one beautiful limited edition.
The Library offer will open on Monday the 10th of March for one week. Stay tuned!

A quick break in the Sunshine State
Giovanni and Corinna swapped their muddy boots and pruning shears for flip-flops and fishing rods for our mid-February Southern Swing. We were warmly welcomed in Naples, Palm Beach & Boca Grande and would like to say a GRANDE grazie mille to all our incredible hosts. And, thanks to each of you who attended our tastings and dinners - your enthusiasm for our wines inspires us every day.
There are no better ambassadors for our wines than Corinna & Giovanni. Between them, they oversee every step - from grape to bottle - and their passion and knowledge radiates in every encounter.

Back in misty Toscana, we are waiting patiently to greet the first tender buds on our vines. Within their tight furls lies Vintage 2025, a story yet to be written.
With gratitude,
Margot
