A Postcard from Toscana

Dear Friends,
We are especially grateful to be immersed in the vivid colors of Tuscan Spring. This is the purple time; iris, wisteria and flowering rosemary all offer an annual reminder that primavera is here, and with it, renewal.
If only we could transport you here for a moment to enjoy the calm of the May vineyard, the melodious double call of the doves and thrum of bees as they pollinate the sweet peas and fava beans planted between each row. of vines. There is a phrase, la terra è bassa; the earth is low, and having our feet firmly planted on this generous land is a grounding experience.
Farming teaches important lessons about pivoting and perspective. We are perpetually inhabiting two chronologies simultaneously: the vintage of the past year, aging gracefully in the barrel and the vintage to come, the “oh so tiny” vulnerable buds on the vine.
We remain perennially ready to adapt to the vagaries of the weather - and other factors beyond our control. In the past few weeks, we acted quickly to relocate a cache of our wine inventory from Italy to the U.S. so you, our loyal friends, will be spared the effects of oscillating tariffs.

Chardonnay and Rosé on the way
In mid-June, you will be hearing from us with the opportunity to order our limited edition 2023 Chardonnay and 2024 Gemina Rosé.
With the wines already stateside, delivery will be swift, in time for those warm summer evenings when something crisp and refreshing is required. If you “need” wine before the June release—please reach out to us at info@ultimapietra.com and we will do our best to accommodate.
Corinna, Edoardo and I have been busy creating a beautiful new website to optimize your customer experience and further streamline the ordering process. Stay tuned - more soon!

The Giro d’Italia visited Ultima Pietra: Will you?
On Sunday 18 May, the Giro d’Italia sped by Ultima Pietra which was thrilling. Think Tour de France with a side of pasta.
If you are planning to visit Tuscany, on two wheels or four, we would love to welcome you for a Private Wine Tasting Experience.
Nothing compares to tasting wines in the company of the winemaker, the person who has made every decision from grape to bottle. After a stroll through the vineyards and a visit to the cantina, we will sit and sip together under the rose-covered pergola, an unforgettable way to experience the heart and soul of Ultima Pietra. Time stands still while memories are made.
For details, please email us at cheers@ultimapietra.com. In the meantime, we raise a glass in your direction from beneath the cascading wisteria.
Cheers and warm wishes,
Margot
